We’ve all had moments we wish we could rewrite—words we wish we hadn’t said, decisions we wish we hadn’t made, and opportunities we wish we’d taken. If only life came with an “undo” button, right?
But here’s the truth: the past can’t be changed. No matter how much we replay it in our minds, it’s already written. The good news? You are not bound to stay the same. You can grow. You can heal. You can change.
It’s natural to revisit old chapters. Sometimes we do it to make sense of what happened, other times because we secretly hope remembering it enough times will somehow change it. But staying stuck in regret keeps us from stepping into the life waiting for us.
Dwelling on the past can:
The reality is, your past is a teacher—not a prison.
The power you have is not in changing what happened—it’s in changing what happens next.
Think of your past as raw material. The mistakes, the struggles, the victories—they’re all building blocks you can use to create something new.
You are not the same person you were last year, last month, or even last week. You’ve learned. You’ve endured. You’ve grown.
The past can’t be erased, but it can be redeemed—when you let it shape you into someone stronger, wiser, and more compassionate.
So, instead of asking, “How can I change my past?” ask yourself, “How can I change my future?”
